Mouth Watering Chick-Fil-A Copycat Chicken Sandwich

Move over Chick-Fil-A, you've got some competition!

This homemade chicken sandwich is absolutely irresistible, especially with the divine homemade copycat Chick-Fil-A sauce drizzled over the top. I paired it with my own freshly baked buns & crispy air-fried french fries!

This meal is a true labor of love, but absolutely so worth it!

Who needs takeout when you can savor this heavenly goodness right at home?

Chick-Fil-A Copycat Crispy Chicken Sandwich

Ingredients:

Brine:

2 Chicken Breasts Halved

1/2 Cup of Pickle Juice

1/2 Cup of Water

Breading & Egg Wash:

1 1/2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour

3 Tablespoons of Powdered Sugar

1/2 Teaspoon Smoked Paprika

1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

1/2 Teaspoon of Chili Powder

1/2 Teaspoon of Salt

1/2 Teaspoon of Baking Powder

1 Large Egg

1/2 Cup of Milk

Copycat Chick-Fil-A Sauce:

1/2 Cup of Mayo

4 Teaspoons of Yellow Mustard

2 Teaspoons of BBQ Sauce

2 Tablespoon of Sweetener ( I used simple syrup, but you could easily use honey)

1/2 Teaspoon of Garlic Powder

1/2 Teaspoon of Smoked Paprika

1 Teaspoon of Lemon Juice

Directions:

  1. Marinate the chicken. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl for a minimum of four hours. Make sure the chicken is submerged in water, if you need to add more, go ahead!

  2. Make the sauce ahead of time. Combine all the ingredients in a bowl. Make sure to mix well. It tastes better when it's been refrigerated for a little while.

  3. Next, in a large bowl, mix the breading ingredients together.

  4. In another bowl mix the wet ingredients: the milk & egg.

  5. Heat the oven to 450 Degrees F. If you're making the fries, this would be a good time to get the air fryer started!

  6. Coat the Chicken with the egg wash. Then coat in the flour breading mixture. Repeat, yes, repeat the steps! This can be called "double-dipping" but it helps the chicken be tender for when you cook it in the oven.

  7. Place a wire cooling rack on top of a baking sheet. Don't forget to oil the wire rack, otherwise, your chicken might stick to it.

  8. Place your "double-dipped" chicken on the wire rack. Coat with oil to ensure it will be crispy on both sides.

  9. Bake the chicken for 15 minutes on one side. Then flip and bake for an additional 15 minutes. Using your meat thermometer, ensure your chicken is fully cooked.

  10. Let cool while you're prepping your sandwiches.

Easy Air Fryer French Fries

Ingredients:

6 Russet Potatoes

2-3 Tablespoons of Oil

1-2 Tablespoons of Seasoning (We use Steak Seasoning, but salt could work too!)

Directions:

  1. Cut up the fries. Don't worry too much about them being the same size. The air fryer is very forgiving!

  2. Place your cut-up potatoes in a nice cool water bath. It's best if these stay in for about an hour to ensure the extra starch is removed.

  3. After an hour, lay them on a kitchen towel & let them air dry.

  4. Let them dry completely before cooking them.

  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375 Degrees.

  6. Once the air fryer is ready, toss them with the oil & season with seasoning or salt.

  7. Cook for 15-20 minutes until they are golden & crispy.

  8. These are best served hot!

Easy No Rise Hamburger Buns

Ingredients:

2 Teaspoons of Active Dry Yeast

1 Cup of Warm Water, about 110 Degrees.

1/3 Cup Vegetable Oil

1/4 Cup Sugar

1 Large Egg

1 Teaspoon Salt

3-3 1/2 Cups of All-Purpose Flour

Egg Wash:

1 Egg

1 Tablespoon of Water

Sesame Seeds

Directions:

  1. Add yeast & warm water to a large bowl or mixer. Add oil & sugar too. Let stand for 5 minutes. It should be foamy afterward.

  2. Whisk in an egg. Slowly mix in the salt & flour. Continue to add flour until you have a soft dough.

  3. Using a dough hook, knead in the mixer for 3-5 minutes. Mix until the dough is smooth and elastic-like. Do not let rise.

  4. Divide into eight equal parts. I weigh them all out to ensure they are similar in size.

  5. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

  6. Place the dough balls onto a greased or lined baking sheet. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rest for 10 minutes.

  7. Afterward, brush the buns with the egg wash & sprinkle sesame seeds.

  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.

  9. Let cool before slicing.

Store buns in an airtight container or eat them in one sitting! Either way, enjoy!

Even if you aren't making these all together, I hope you enjoy them all!
